The project project is what you are looking at. It's goal is to create a directory of all LBIS projects.

What is a project?

We're leaving the definition a bit fuzzy for now. If you think what you're working on is a project, add it to the list. Once we have a list of candidates for including, we'll work on a better definition. For now, think of it as something with a beginning and an end, and that produces change in the world.

How to categorize a project?

We're developing a taxonomy for categorizing projects. For now, just add the project info and we'll handle the tagging. That information can be found at http://lbis-wiki.kenyon.edu/index.php/Project_taxonomy .

Benefits of doing this

1. Helps with planning, resource allocation, and budgeting

2. Helps us prioritize work

3. Communicates internally and externally what we are working on

4. Improves accountability and transparency

Costs

1. time to type this into the system

2. time to review the material within the system

3. programming/system maintenance time

Next Steps

1. training on how to use the wiki

2. input materials

3. categorize materials (after we create useful set of categories)

4. regular editorial meeting to review, refine, tweak
